LIFE IS ART was created to bring the adults in our community together for an evening of fun and to increase the sense of belonging we all have to Renaissance. What a fun night!
Life is Art was also created as our second, whole school fundraiser - and raise funds we did!
Our community raised $90,000.!!!!!!
THANKFUL!
More information will be coming from the Renaissance Educational Alliance (REA) to give you detail account of where these dollars will be allocated - but for certain - those dollars will be supporting instruction!
GRATEFUL!
So appreciative for the sacrifices that were made by our community volunteers to plan and deliver such an amazing event!
BLESSED!
Welcoming a new staff member!
The passing of the mill-levy has made it financially possible for the district to fund a counselor for all elementary schools.
We were so very fortunate to be hiring Terri Mathis! You'll see Terri in our school when we return from Spring Break!
I can't wait for Terri to discover the special community she is joining!
"I am Terri Mathis, and I am so excited to be joining the
Renaissance community as the new Elementary School Counselor. I come to Colorado from Florida where my
husband and I spent the last 24 years raising our family. With my husband’s
company relocating us to Colorado, our new adventure began last summer.
I come to Renaissance
with experience in the Douglas County Schools as a School Based therapist for
AllHealth Network. I am dual licensed as a Marriage & Family Therapist and as
a School Counselor. I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from York
College of Pennsylvania and a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from
Palm Beach Atlantic University. I have spent much of my career working in education,
prevention/intervention and as a clinical therapist.
My professional background includes teaching in public
school as a Special Education Pre-K teacher and then 5th grade in a
private school, as well as working as a School Counselor and Therapist. I spent several years in private practice as a
family therapist and the past 5 years in Florida as a Director for a community
mental health providing in home family therapy and support.
My hope is to share my experience, knowledge and training
with the Renaissance community, and to provide support for both the students
and their families. My experience as a parent of 3 children was both the most
wonderful job and the toughest job at the same time. I could not have done it
without my children’s teachers, their coaches and their counselors. I truly
believe it takes a village to raise a family, and I am honored to be part of
the village at Renaissance."
It's definitely spring in Colorado!
Enjoy the snow today!
Have a marvelous Spring Break!!!
Warmly,
Ms. Deborah
